Description / Laurin Metalli 90mm Carbon Steel Small Leuku Carving Blade Blank
For a household that makes its own camp tools, this Laurin Metalli Small Leuku carving blade blank provides a starting point for building a carving knife for practical bushcraft work. It is a blade blank rather than a finished, ready-to-use knife, so it belongs in a workshop until it has been properly completed.
The blade measures 90mm long, 27mm deep and 3.25mm wide, and is made from 80CrV2 carbon steel. Fit and finish it using suitable tools and safe workshop practices, then check the completed tool before putting it to work.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home workshop: Keep it with tools and materials for making camp equipment.
- Shed or woodstore: A place to complete and maintain practical wood-working tools.
- Camp toolmaking: A project component for bushcraft skills, once properly finished.
Prep tips
- Store the blade securely in a dry place, separate from loose kit and where it cannot be handled accidentally.
- As carbon steel can be affected by moisture, keep it dry and check it during routine kit checks.
- Complete and inspect the tool in a controlled workspace before relying on it for camp tasks.
