About this page and the data

Where does it come from?

The Met Office, Environment Agency, Elexon and NESO (the electricity system operator), NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, NASA, MI5, ONS, the European Central Bank and the World Health Organization. Every tile links to its source, which is always the authority.

How is the overall status worked out?

It reflects the most serious current weather, flood, power grid and space weather warnings. The terrorism threat level only moves it at Critical, because the level rarely changes and is shown on its own tile.

What should I do with it?

Treat it as an early heads-up, then follow official advice for your area. A few basics go a long way: a torch and spare batteries, stored water, a first aid kit and a way to charge your phone. In an emergency call 999.
