Description / Robens Polarshield 60 Double Compact Inflatable Sleep Mat

When cold weather or an unexpected change of plans means sleeping away from your usual bed, a double mat gives two people a comfortable surface with insulation from the ground. The Robens Polarshield 60 is an inflatable sleeping mat with a 6 cm thickness and a compact pack size for camping and other overnight use. Its 3D shape has vertical sides to maximise the usable surface area, while vertical cutouts reduce weight without compromising warmth. The Robens Peak Valve has high airflow properties for inflation, and the mat comes with a carry bag. Its construction is made from 20D 390T nylon with a TPU coating and is described as delamination-proof.

Where it fits in your kit

  • Home emergency box: a sleeping surface for an unexpected night away from your usual bed.
  • Family camping kit: a double mat for shared tent sleeping space.
  • Off-grid camp: insulation and comfort for nights without indoor bedding.
  • Car-camping gear: a compactly packed mat for planned overnight stops.

Prep tips

  • Inflate and check the mat before a trip so you know how it sets up.
  • Pack it with a suitable pump or inflation method if you use one; do not assume one is included.
  • Keep a separate repair option with camping equipment and check the mat for damage before storing it.
