Description / Robens Hunter Wood-Burning Tent Stove
When a cold-weather camp or an extended off-grid stay calls for heat and a way to cook, the Robens Hunter is a wood-burning tent stove for use in compatible stove-ready shelters. Its steel and stainless steel construction makes it a practical option for trips where a stove can earn its place by providing warmth as well as cooking and boiling water.
The stove measures 285 x 450 x 263 mm and weighs 17.6 kg. It packs down to 55 x 34 x 44 cm for transport, and its maximum height is 330 cm. Set it up only in a shelter designed for a stove, following the shelter and stove instructions.
Where it fits in your kit
- Off-grid camp: provides a wood-burning heat and cooking option.
- Compatible stove-ready shelter: helps keep the space warm in colder conditions.
- Extended outdoor stays: lets you cook or boil water at camp.
- Home emergency planning: consider it only where you have a suitable stove-ready shelter and safe setup.
Prep tips
- Check that your shelter is designed for a tent stove before planning to use one.
- Practise assembling and packing the stove at home, so you know what to expect at camp.
- Plan a separate backup for cooking and warmth in case conditions or your shelter make stove use unsuitable.
