Description / Petromax Telescopic Stainless Steel Barbecue Tongs
When the kitchen is unavailable and you’re cooking outdoors over a grill or charcoal, these Petromax stainless steel tongs help you handle food and grill components. Their adjustable reach makes them a practical addition to cooking equipment for camp or off-grid use.
The telescopic mechanism adjusts continuously from 29 to 37 cm. Shaped gripping surfaces handle smaller pieces of food or slide beneath food on a grill or plancha. The tongs also include a bottle opener and grill rack lifter, and close down to a shorter size for storage. Stainless steel can become hot during use, so keep hands away from heated sections and let the tongs cool before cleaning or storing them.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: Keep with outdoor cooking gear for meals when normal kitchen facilities are unavailable.
- Camp kitchen: Handle food and grill components over a barbecue or charcoal fire.
- Off-grid cooking kit: Use with a grill or plancha when cooking away from mains-powered appliances.
- Outdoor cooking equipment: The bottle opener and grill rack lifter add useful functions alongside the tongs.
Prep tips
- Store the tongs with your grill or cooking equipment so they are ready when needed.
- Practise adjusting the length and using the different gripping surfaces before cooking.
- Keep hands clear of heated sections and allow the tongs to cool before cleaning or storage.
