Description / Petromax Steel Cooking Support for Atago Griddle Plate
When you are cooking outdoors without a kitchen, one fire may need to handle both the main meal and a pot of soup or coffee. This Petromax steel Cooking Support fits the opening in the Atago Griddle Plate, adding a place to set a pot, pan or percolator over direct flame.
The raised inner edge helps keep food on the griddle plate, while the support allows charcoal and firewood to be added through the plate's cut-out. Use it with a small Dutch Oven or saucepan for sauces and soups, or a percolator for coffee. It is designed for the Atago Griddle Plate; the compatible Insert for Atago Griddle Plate can be added when you need smaller cookware to sit securely.
Where it fits in your kit
- Off-grid cooking setup: add pot cooking alongside grilling.
- Camp kitchen: prepare a hot drink or side dish over the same fire.
- Home emergency cooking equipment: useful when your setup includes an Atago and its griddle plate.
Prep tips
- Check that your Atago Griddle Plate is part of your cooking setup before packing this support.
- Practise positioning it and your cookware over a controlled fire before relying on it outdoors.
- Keep a separate backup method for preparing food if the fire or cooking equipment cannot be used.
