Description / Petromax Perkomax 9-Cup Enamelled Percolator - White
When a power cut leaves the kettle unusable, this percolator gives you another way to make tea or coffee. The Petromax Perkomax can be used indoors or outdoors, including over a campfire or on a barbecue, making it useful at home and at camp.
It prepares up to nine cups at a time. Preparation time varies with the temperature of the heat source and the quantity of water, so allow for those differences when making drinks for a group.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: a way to make hot drinks when you can use an alternative heat source.
- Camp kitchen: make tea or coffee over a campfire or barbecue.
- Off-grid cooking setup: use it with a suitable cooking plate or other listed heat source.
- Household kitchen: it can also be used on a cooking plate, ceramic glass cooktop or induction cooker.
Prep tips
- Keep it with the cooking equipment you would use during an outage or at camp, rather than storing it separately from your heat source.
- Check which heat sources are available at your intended location before relying on them.
- Practise making a pot at home so you know how long it takes with your usual heat source and quantity of water.
