Description / Petromax Perkomax 3L Stainless Steel Percolator
When you need a hot drink at camp or during a disruption to your usual routine, the Petromax Perkomax 3L Stainless Steel Percolator gives you a way to brew coffee or tea over a campfire or on a domestic electric or gas stove. Its stainless steel construction and straightforward percolator method make it a practical addition to an off-grid cooking kit.
Place coffee or tea powder in the sieve container inside the pot. As the water boils, it rises through the tube and flows through the permeable lid into the drink powder, then mixes back into the water. The longer it circulates, the more intense the flavour becomes. A glass knob in the lid lets you watch the brewing process.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: A familiar way to make hot drinks on a gas stove during a power cut.
- Camp cooking kit: Brew over a campfire when staying outdoors.
- Off-grid kitchen: Use with a suitable campfire or stove for coffee or tea away from mains power.
- Everyday kitchen: Keep it available for brewing on a domestic electric or gas stove.
Prep tips
- Practise the brewing process at home before relying on it at camp.
- Pack coffee or tea separately in a sealed container to keep it ready to use.
- Use it with a suitable heat source and follow safe fire and stove practices.
