Description / Petromax Perkomax 1.5L Stainless Steel Percolator
When you’re camping or cooking away from mains power, a hot drink is a useful comfort. The Petromax Perkomax is a 1.5-litre stainless steel percolator for brewing coffee or tea over a campfire or on a domestic stove, so you can make a drink without relying on an electric kettle.
Place coffee or tea powder in the sieve container inside the pot. As the water boils, it rises through the tube and flows over the powder; the longer it circulates, the more intense the flavour becomes. A glass knob in the lid lets you watch the brewing process. Use it on a campfire or a domestic electric or gas stove.
Where it fits in your kit
- Camp kitchen: Make hot drinks while cooking over a campfire.
- Off-grid cooking: Brew without relying on an electric kettle.
- Home emergency box: Keep a familiar way to make coffee or tea when using a suitable alternative heat source.
Prep tips
- Store it with coffee or tea and a way to heat water, so the parts of your hot-drink setup are together.
- Practise using the percolator on your intended heat source before relying on it at camp.
- Keep a separate way to boil water available in case your usual cooking method is unavailable.
Specifications
- Material: Stainless steel
- Max. filling capacity: 1.5 litres
