Description / Petromax KX25 25L Passive Cool Box - Olive
When a power cut lasts longer than expected, keeping food cold becomes a practical concern. The Petromax KX25 is a 25 l passive cool box that works with commercially available ice, cold packs or dry ice, making it useful at home or away from mains power. With ice, it can keep contents cool for up to 12 days.
Pre-cool the box and stock it with already chilled food or drinks. The double-walled, void-insulated design has an insulation layer of at least 45 mm. Its interior fits either 24 x 0.33 l cans or 12 x 1 l bottles upright. A draining system helps remove melt water, while the rubber fasteners can be operated with one hand.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency supplies: Keep chilled provisions available during a power cut, provided you have ice or cold packs.
- Car or vehicle trips: Transport food and drinks for journeys or longer periods away from home.
- Off-grid camp: Store provisions when there is no mains-powered refrigeration.
- Outdoor cooking: Keep ingredients chilled close to your cooking area.
Prep tips
- Cool the box before use and load it with pre-chilled food or drinks.
- Place ice or cold packs on top, and open the lid only when needed.
- Keep it in a cool, shaded place out of direct sunlight.
- Check that your chosen ice or cold packs are ready before relying on the box during an outage or trip.
