When a power cut or time off-grid means cooking over an open fire, a Dutch oven lets you prepare a substantial meal without relying on mains power. The Petromax FT18 is a sturdy 16.1L cast-iron Dutch oven for open-air cooking and baking, with a pre-treated surface that needs no first seasoning.
Cast iron stores and distributes warmth efficiently. Use the pot over an open fire, charcoal or briquettes; the raised edge on the lid lets you place embers or charcoal on top, heating the oven from all sides. A thermometer hole allows temperature checks without lifting the lid, and the upturned lid can also serve as a pan.
