Description / Petromax Cool Box Lock Bracket with Bottle Opener
When provisions are stored outside your tent at camp, this Petromax Cool Box Lock Bracket gives you a way to secure your cool box with a chain and lock. It is a practical extra for keeping food storage more secure at an off-grid camp, provided you already use a Petromax Cool Box.
Insert the bracket from above into one of the cool box handles, then close the box to fix it in place. The bracket cannot be removed from the outside when fitted this way. Add a chain and lock to secure the box to a suitable fixed point. An integrated bottle opener is built in for when the bracket is not being used to secure the box.
Where it fits in your kit
- Camp food storage: add a locking point when provisions are kept outside your tent.
- Off-grid camp kitchen: secure a Petromax Cool Box near your cooking area.
- Base camp provisions: use a chain and lock to attach the cool box to a suitable fixed point.
Prep tips
- Check that the bracket fits your Petromax Cool Box handle before relying on it at camp.
- Pack a suitable chain and lock; they are needed to secure the box and are not specified as included.
- Practise fitting the bracket and closing the box at home so you know how it sits before a trip.
