Description / Petromax Cabix Plus Briquettes for Dutch Oven Cooking
When a power cut leaves you without your usual cooking appliances, a fuel option for outdoor cooking can help keep a hot meal within reach. Petromax Cabix Plus briquettes are designed for Dutch ovens, loaf pans and BBQs, providing an alternative for cooking over an open fire.
Their broad surface helps deliver consistent heat above and below the cookware, while the ridged profile allows airflow for a constant burn. They burn for up to four hours and produce minimum ashes. Once extinguished, the briquettes can be reused; their square shape also makes them easy to stack for storage.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: keep a suitable cooking fuel option for power cuts.
- Camp cooking supplies: use with a Dutch oven or loaf pan over an open fire.
- Off-grid cooking kit: plan meals that can be made without mains power.
- Outdoor BBQ supplies: use for cooking when away from home.
Prep tips
- Store fuel in a dry place and keep it separate from anything that could ignite it accidentally.
- Pair briquettes with cookware and a cooking setup suitable for open-fire use.
- Practise your cooking method before relying on it during a disruption.
- Keep another cooking method available so one fuel type is not your only option.
