Description / Petromax 27L Cooler Backpack for Ice-Cooled Food - Sand
When a power cut interrupts refrigeration or you are heading somewhere without mains power, keeping food and drink cool takes planning. The Petromax 27L Cooler Backpack uses ice cubes for electricity-free cooling, with a backpack design that makes supplies easier to carry. It offers a practical way to transport chilled provisions for an outage, camp or other off-grid trip.
Carry it using the padded back, adjustable shoulder straps and chest strap, or use the carry handle. The water-repellent nylon fabric and wipe-clean surfaces help with day-to-day spills. Store smaller items in the front and side pockets or mesh pockets, and use the external loops and elastic straps for accessories. The main compartment can hold 13 x 1-litre bottles upright, alongside a pack of ice cubes.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: Keep chilled provisions together when the power is out.
- Camp: Carry food and drinks without relying on an electrical supply.
- Off-grid cooking: Keep ingredients and drinks together while away from mains power.
- Outdoor day trips: Carry refreshments on your back, with extra items in the pockets.
Prep tips
- Check that you have ice available before relying on the cooler for a trip or outage.
- Pack chilled food and drinks before adding ice, and keep the bag closed when not accessing its contents.
- Wipe the interior and exterior clean after use, then allow it to dry before storing.
- Test your packing arrangement at home so you know where food, ice and smaller supplies fit.
