Description / Petromax 0.75L Stainless Steel Fire Kettle for Off-Grid Cooking
When you need hot water at camp or during a power outage, the Petromax 0.75L Stainless Steel Fire Kettle gives you a way to boil water without relying on gas cartridges. It burns small twigs, branches or fir cones, so it can be useful for off-grid cooking when suitable natural fuel is available.
The double-walled design creates a chimney effect to heat water, and a steam whistle signals when it reaches boiling point. The kettle also works as a compact stove: its included cooking device fits into the top opening to support small pots and pans. A screw-on lid allows water to be transported, while the fire bowl and feet fit inside the kettle base for storage.
Where it fits in your kit
- Camp kitchen: boil water or prepare a quick meal outdoors.
- Off-grid cooking kit: use small twigs, branches or fir cones as fuel.
- Home emergency box: keep an outdoor cooking option for power cuts, where fires can be used safely.
- Outdoor bushcraft kit: a kettle and cooking support in one compact design.
Prep tips
- Practise setting it up and using it before you need it, in a safe outdoor location.
- Pack a reliable fire-lighting method and a backup, such as a lighter and fire steel.
