Description / Opinel No08 Locking Stainless Steel Outdoor Knife (8.5cm) Orange
When you need to cut cord or handle practical camp tasks away from home, a folding knife can earn its place in a well-planned kit. The orange Opinel No08 Outdoor Knife has an 8.5cm part-serrated stainless steel blade, a Virobloc locking system and a built-in whistle, bringing several useful features together in one tool.
The 3.5cm serrated section is suited to cutting natural and synthetic ropes. Its fibreglass-reinforced polyamide handle is water-resistant and withstands extreme temperatures. The handle also includes a shackle key for 4 to 10mm shackles, while the pea-less whistle emits 110 decibels.
Where it fits in your kit
- Camp kit: for general cutting tasks around the pitch.
- Bushcraft work: for rope and other practical camp jobs.
- Shed or woodstore: keep it with tools used for preparing and maintaining outdoor kit.
Prep tips
- Store it securely with your camp tools, rather than loose among other kit.
- Practise opening, locking and closing the blade safely before relying on it.
- Pair it with a suitable cutting tool for tasks that are too large for a folding knife.
