Description / Opinel No.312 Stainless Steel Paring Knife - Red
When a power cut makes kitchen appliances unavailable, a paring knife still lets you prepare fruit and vegetables by hand. The Opinel No.312 is a practical kitchen knife with a 10 cm stainless steel blade and a polymer handle, giving it a useful place in a home emergency kit alongside food that can be prepared without powered equipment.
Its smooth edge is suited to precise cutting and peeling, while the handle has a non-slip grip. It is dishwasher safe for straightforward cleaning after use. Keep it sharp and stored securely so it is ready for everyday kitchen tasks as well as a disruption.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home kitchen: everyday peeling and trimming of fruit and vegetables.
- Home emergency supplies: manual food preparation during a power cut.
- Camp kitchen: preparing food at camp where a kitchen knife is appropriate.
Prep tips
- Store the knife securely in a kitchen drawer or knife block, away from children.
- Keep a manual can opener and other useful hand tools with your emergency food supplies.
- Practise food preparation with your usual kitchen kit before you need to rely on it during an outage.
