Description / Opinel NO.2 Non-Locking Carbon Steel Folding Knife (3.5cm)
For small cutting tasks at home or at camp, a compact knife can be a useful part of a practical kit. The Opinel NO.2 is a non-locking carbon steel knife with a 3.5cm high-carbon steel Yatagan blade and a tinted varnished beech handle.
Its short blade suits small jobs where a larger knife would be unnecessary. The blade does not lock, so handle it with care and use it only for tasks suited to its size and design.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: A small tool for occasional cutting jobs during household disruptions.
- Kitchen drawer: Keep it with household tools for suitable small food-preparation tasks.
- Camp kit: Useful for small camp jobs where a compact blade is appropriate.
- Shed or workbench: Store it with tools for light cutting tasks.
Prep tips
- Wipe the high-carbon steel blade clean and dry after use, then store it safely.
- Practise opening and closing the non-locking blade carefully before relying on it for a task.
- Keep a suitable larger cutting tool available for jobs beyond this knife’s small blade.
