Description / Opinel Les Forgés 1890 16 cm Carving Knife
When a roast or other large cut of meat needs carving, a dedicated knife makes the job more controlled. The Opinel Les Forgés 1890 Carving Knife has a 16 cm stainless steel blade for slicing meat at home or when preparing a meal at camp.
Its slim blade is 2.5 mm thick, and the unvarnished beech handle provides a natural grip. The knife has a 30° sharpening angle (15° per side); keep it sharp and use steady, controlled strokes for smooth slicing.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home kitchen: carve roasts, lamb and poultry.
- Home food preparation: portion large cuts of meat for meals.
- Camp kitchen: prepare and serve meat when cooking outdoors.
Prep tips
- Store the knife securely so the blade is protected and cannot be reached accidentally.
- Use a stable cutting surface and keep your fingers clear of the blade while carving.
