Description / Mora Bushcraft Survival Black Fixed Blade Knife with Fire Starter
When you need to prepare kindling or handle practical camp tasks away from home, this Mora fixed blade knife gives you a cutting tool and firelighting method in one set. It has a carbon steel blade and an integrated firesteel, making it a useful option for a camp kit or home emergency box used for outdoor work.
The firesteel can be struck on the back of the blade and is rated for up to 7000 strokes. A diamond sharpener is included for blade maintenance, along with a sheath and two belt clips. Carbon steel benefits from being kept clean and dry; practise using the firesteel and sharpener before relying on them outdoors.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home shed or woodstore: Keep it with tools for preparing kindling and routine outdoor jobs.
- Camp: Use it for food preparation, carving and other camp tasks.
- Bushcraft practice: A fixed blade and firesteel provide useful tools for practising basic outdoor skills.
- Woodland work: Suitable for straightforward carving and general outdoor craft.
Prep tips
- Store the carbon steel blade clean and dry, and check it periodically for signs of corrosion.
- Keep another firelighting method, such as a lighter or matches, as a backup.
- Practise striking the firesteel and using the sharpener in a safe, controlled setting before you need them.
