Kelly Kettle Base Camp 1.6l Large Aluminium Kettle

When a power cut disrupts your usual cooking setup, this kettle gives you a way to boil water outdoors using natural solid fuel. The Kelly Kettle Base Camp has a 1.6-litre capacity for making hot drinks for a group, and its fire base is designed for fuels such as sticks, pine cones and dry grass. The anodised aluminium construction is durable and scratch resistant. The fire base inverts and stores inside the kettle for compact transport, while a green silicone whistle on a chain alerts you when the water has boiled. Use it outside, and practise setting it up before relying on it during a disruption.

Where it fits in your kit

• Home emergency box: a useful outdoor boiling option during a power cut.
• Camp kitchen: make hot drinks for a group using natural solid fuel.
