Description / KA-BAR Becker Campanion Fixed Blade Knife with Polyester Sheath
When camp cooking or woodland work calls for kindling and food preparation, the KA-BAR Becker Campanion is a heavy-duty fixed blade knife for those practical jobs. Its high-carbon steel blade and Zytel handle make it a useful tool to keep at camp or in a home workshop, rather than a general-purpose item for a grab bag.
Use it for splitting out kindling or chopping ingredients for a campfire meal. The supplied heavy-duty polyester sheath has a front pocket and a press-stud fastening; keep the knife sheathed when it is not in use.
Where it fits in your kit
- Camp kitchen: prepare ingredients for cooking outdoors.
- Kindling work: split small pieces of wood for a fire.
- Bushcraft camp: handle practical camp tasks at an established site.
- Home shed or woodstore: keep it with tools used for firewood and outdoor jobs.
Prep tips
- Store the knife securely in its sheath, away from children and other loose equipment.
- Keep the blade clean and dry after use, and check its condition before putting it away.
- Practise controlled cutting on suitable material before relying on the knife at camp.
- Use a stable work surface and keep hands clear of the cutting path.
