Description / Higonokami No 7 Triple Layered SK5 Folding Knife
When camp cooking or woodland work calls for a compact cutting tool, the Higonokami No 7 is a traditionally made Japanese non-locking folding knife. Its 3" SK5 carbon steel blade and stainless handle make it a straightforward option for appropriate camp and workshop tasks.
The knife measures 3.75" when closed and has an extended tang and a lanyard hole. As a non-locking design, it differs from a locking folder; handle and use it with care, and keep it stored safely between jobs.
Where it fits in your kit
- Camp kitchen: for suitable food preparation tasks.
- Bushcraft camp: a compact cutting tool for appropriate camp jobs.
- Shed or workshop: keep it with tools for planned cutting tasks.
- Woodstore: useful for small preparation jobs around stored firewood.
Prep tips
- Store the knife securely and keep it separate from loose items that could damage the blade or cause accidental contact.
- Practise safe handling and cutting technique before relying on it at camp.
- Keep a suitable sharpening method with your tools and check the blade before use.
- Use it only for lawful, appropriate cutting tasks; observe UK rules for possession and transport.
