Description / Highlander Vulcan 35L Mountain Rucksack with Raincover - Navy Blue
When you need to leave at short notice or carry supplies away from home, a well-organised rucksack makes a practical base for your kit. The Highlander Vulcan is a 35-litre mountain rucksack with a detachable lid, multiple pockets and an included raincover, giving you useful ways to arrange and carry essentials.
Attachment points are provided for rope, an ice axe and walking poles, with a slot for an ice axe and a daisy chain for lashing additional gear. Padded shoulder straps and a hip belt, plus load stabilisation straps, help keep the load settled. The floating lid, stretch front pockets and zipped side pockets provide different storage options, while the pack is compatible with a hydration bladder.
Where it fits in your kit
- Grab bag: organise clothing, food, water and other essentials for a short-notice departure.
- 72-hour kit: carry a planned set of supplies for time away from home.
- Home emergency kit: keep key items together in a pack that is ready to pick up.
- Camp and off-grid trips: carry personal gear and use the attachment points for outdoor equipment.
Prep tips
- Pack heavier items close to your back and adjust the straps before setting out.
- Keep frequently needed items in accessible pockets, and check that zips and buckles work.
- Try packing and carrying your intended kit before relying on it; revise the load if it is awkward.
- Store the rucksack dry and check its contents periodically, replacing anything used or out of date.
