Description / Highlander Respite 1 Person Tunnel Tent - 4000mm Flysheet
When a storm leaves you needing shelter away from home, the Highlander Respite 1 Person Tunnel Tent provides a weatherproof place to sleep and store your kit. Its ripstop flysheet has a 4000mm hydrostatic head, while the sewn-in groundsheet has a 5000mm hydrostatic head. At 1.935 kg with the dry bag, it is a practical option for solo trips where packed weight matters.
The tunnel shape includes a front porch for storing gear and cooking out of the rain. A two-way zip with mesh window and a curved zip at the top of the door help adjust airflow. Aluminium 7001 alloy poles and pegs keep the structure lightweight, and an internal hanging line offers space for clothes or light storage.
Where it fits in your kit
- Bug-out or evacuation plan: a solo shelter option when you need to leave home at short notice.
- 72-hour kit: shelter for an overnight stay away from home, where carrying a tent is suitable.
- Camp and bushcraft: a weatherproof sleeping space with a covered porch for gear.
- Off-grid trips: a compact-packed tent for self-supported hiking or bikepacking.
Prep tips
- Practise pitching the tent at home before relying on it outdoors.
- Check the tent, poles, pegs and seams before each trip, and allow the tent to dry before storing it.
- Pair it with a sleeping bag and mat suited to the conditions you expect.
