Description / Grilliput Duo Compact Stainless Steel Grill
When a power cut or time off-grid means you need to cook outdoors, the Grilliput Duo is a compact stainless steel grill for preparing food over a fire. It provides a practical alternative to relying on an electric hob, with a cooking area sized for 2–3 people.
It assembles quickly and comes apart in seconds. The grill rods fit inside one of the side rails for storage, and a cleaning groove helps remove residue from the grill bars. Use it over a FireBowl filled with fuel, as described by the manufacturer.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: a reusable outdoor cooking option when mains cooking is unavailable.
- Camp cooking kit: grill food for a small group over a suitable fire setup.
- Off-grid cooking: useful when your usual electric cooking appliances are not available.
- Boating or beach kit: a compact grill for outdoor meals where cooking is permitted.
Prep tips
- Practise assembling and packing the grill before you need to use it.
- Store it clean and dry, with all parts kept together in the side rail.
- Plan a suitable fuel and fire-lighting method, and check local rules before lighting an outdoor fire.
- Use outdoors and keep a safe distance from tents, buildings and other combustible materials.
