Description / Gerber LST Ultra Drab Red Lightweight Folding Knife
When a storm interrupts normal routines or you are setting up camp, a compact folding knife can be useful for everyday cutting tasks. The Gerber LST Ultra is a lightweight pocket knife made in the USA, with a smooth, compact design and durable construction for practical use at home or outdoors.
This modern successor to the original Gerber LST updates its materials and build while carrying forward the lightweight design. Keep it stored safely with your tools, and check that you can open and close it smoothly before relying on it for camp jobs.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: a compact cutting tool for suitable household tasks during a disruption.
- Shed or woodstore: keep it with tools for routine jobs around the home.
- Camp: useful for general camp tasks where a folding knife is appropriate.
- Bushcraft and woodland work: a compact tool for appropriate practical tasks at your work site.
Prep tips
- Store the knife securely and keep it separate from loose items that could cause it to open accidentally.
- Check the opening and closing action periodically, and make sure it is clean and dry before storage.
- Practise safe handling and use it only for suitable cutting tasks on a stable surface.
- Keep other essential tools available too; a folding knife is not a substitute for tools designed for heavier work.
