Description / Gerber Compleat Knife Sharpener with 400/1000-Grit Rods
When a camp knife needs attention before meal preparation or practical work, this sharpener gives you two stages in one compact tool. The Gerber Compleat Knife Sharpener has a diamond-coated coarse rod and a ceramic fine rod, offering a straightforward way to maintain cutting tools used around camp or at home.
Use the 400-grit rod to remove larger amounts of material, then finish with the 1000-grit ceramic rod for honing. The textured pinch grip helps you hold the sharpener during use, and the lanyard hole allows it to be attached to your gear or stored with your maintenance tools.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: keep a maintenance tool alongside household equipment.
- Shed or woodstore: store it with tools used for routine upkeep.
- Camp kitchen: maintain knives used for food preparation.
- Bushcraft kit at camp: have both coarse and fine rods available for tool maintenance.
Prep tips
- Practise sharpening at home so you are familiar with the two-stage process before relying on it at camp.
- Store the sharpener with the tools it is intended to maintain, rather than loose among items that could damage the rods.
- Keep a suitable backup sharpening method with your equipment if a single tool is not enough for your plans.
