Description / DD Superlight Tarp - Ultralight Waterproof Shelter - Sunset Orange
When wet weather catches you away from home, a shelter you can pack without adding much weight is useful in a grab bag or camp kit. The DD Superlight Tarp is an ultralight waterproof shelter made from ripstop nylon, weighing 490g (excluding pegs and guy lines). Its 3,000mm PU waterproof coating and taped central seam make it a practical cover for a rest stop or overnight camp.
Use the 19 reinforced attachment points to set it up as a hammock cover or as an open or closed ground shelter. There are 16 points around the sides and corners and 3 along the centre ridge line. Four SuperLight pegs and guy lines are included, along with a stuff sack with a drawcord closure.
Where it fits in your kit
- Camp shelter: Set it up as overhead cover or a ground shelter.
- Hammock setup: Use it as a cover for a regular-sized hammock.
- Grab bag: Its 490g weight makes it a compact shelter option to consider when planning what to pack.
- Day trips and rest stops: Take cover outdoors when rain arrives.
Prep tips
- Practise setting up the tarp before relying on it during a trip.
- Check that the pegs and guy lines are packed with the tarp after each use.
- Choose a suitable setup location and secure the attachment points before settling underneath.
