Description / DD 2.8x1.5m Waterproof Tarp - OG
When a camp or temporary shelter needs cover from the rain, a compact tarp can provide a practical backup. The DD 2.8x1.5m Waterproof Tarp - OG is made from 190T polyester with a PU 3000mm waterproof coating and a taped central seam, making it a useful shelter option for camp and off-grid use.
Its 19 tough reinforced attachment points offer different ways to pitch it: 16 around the sides and corners, plus 3 along the centre ridge line. It comes with 4 pegs and guy lines, each supplied in their own bag, and a drawcord stuff sack. The stated weight is 450g excluding pegs and guy lines.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: keep a cover option ready for storm-related shelter needs.
- Grab bag: a compact shelter component for planned trips or short-notice evacuation.
- Camp and bushcraft: pitch overhead cover using the available attachment points.
- Off-grid shelter: use as a lightweight cover alongside suitable shelter equipment.
Prep tips
- Practise pitching the tarp before relying on it in poor weather.
- Check the tarp, pegs and guy lines periodically, and keep the included parts together.
- Choose a suitable pitch site and secure the tarp appropriately for the conditions.
