Description / Cold Steel Norse Hawk 90N Axe & Sheath Bundle
When you need to process small amounts of wood at camp or around the home woodstore, the Cold Steel Norse Hawk 90N is a throwing axe that can also handle light chopping. This bundle includes a fitted sheath to protect the sharpened edge when the axe is stored.
Its 1055 carbon steel head has a curved 11.4 cm cutting edge and a balanced profile, with a long burnt American hickory handle. The head is hardened to approximately 56 HRC. The axe is also used for recreational throwing at organised activity centres and schools.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home tool store: Keep it with tools for occasional wood processing.
- Shed or woodstore: Store it sheathed near your firewood and chopping equipment.
- Camp: Use it for light chopping and camp wood tasks.
- Bushcraft practice: A tool for supervised axe-throwing sessions or practical woodwork.
Prep tips
- Store the axe with its sheath fitted and keep it somewhere dry.
- Check the edge, handle and sheath periodically, and make sure the handle remains secure before use.
