Description / Blade Medic Field Blade Maintenance Kit - 3 x 5g
After wet-weather use or food preparation, clean blades need care before they go back into storage. The Blade Medic Field Blade Maintenance Kit brings together a protective balm and two stropping compounds in compact applicators, helping you look after working tools at home, in the shed or at camp.
Apply Blade Balm to clean steel to help protect it from rust and oxidation; it is also suitable for wooden handles and leather sheaths. Use Stabilise, the 3 micron compound, for primary edge treatment, then Cure, the 1 micron compound, for final finishing. Both compounds are for use with a leather or wooden strop.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home tool drawer: keep blade-care supplies with tools used for household jobs.
- Shed or woodstore: maintain axes and other working blades between uses.
- Camp kit: useful for routine care of camp tools after use.
- Bushcraft and woodland work: bring the compounds along when working with a strop away from the bench.
Prep tips
- Clean and dry steel before applying a protective product.
- Keep a suitable leather or wooden strop available for the compounds.
- Practise the application and stropping sequence at home before relying on it away from your usual workspace.
