Description / Beavercraft BSH4 Dusk Bushcraft Knife with Walnut Handle and Leather Sheath
When a camp or woodland task needs a sturdy, controllable cutting tool, the Beavercraft BSH4 Dusk Bushcraft Knife offers a full-tang design and a squared spine for striking a flint rod. Its 1066 high carbon steel blade is hardened to 58–60 HRC and has a protective coating to help resist rust and corrosion.
The 3.5 mm-thick blade has jimping for finger placement, while the European walnut handle has replaceable three rivet scales. A paracord lanyard hole is included, and the knife comes with a cowhide leather sheath with belt loop attachments. The squared spine can be used to strike a flint rod and produce sparks.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home tool cupboard: Keep it with tools for planned outdoor and household tasks.
- Shed or woodstore: A useful fixed-blade tool for preparing kindling and working with wood.
- Camp: Suitable for camp tasks and lawful food preparation.
- Bushcraft practice: The squared spine can strike a flint rod when practising fire lighting.
- Woodland work: A substantial knife for appropriate cutting tasks outdoors.
Prep tips
- Store the knife securely, with the blade protected by its sheath and out of reach of children.
- Clean and dry the blade before putting it away; check it periodically for signs of corrosion.
- Practise using the knife and your fire-lighting method in a safe, controlled setting before relying on them outdoors.
- Keep a separate backup fire-lighting method in your kit rather than relying on one tool.
