When you want to shape a wooden spoon, bowl or kuksa for camp or a home woodcraft project, a standard straight blade is not made for the curved cuts involved. The Beaver Craft SK1 is a right-handed hook spoon carving knife with a U-shaped, single-edged carbon steel blade designed for rounding and detailed carving.
Its 25 mm rounding diameter is suited to small projects. The knife can be used on soft and hard wood, and placing one hand atop the blade allows greater control while cutting. Work carefully and take time to practise on suitable wood before relying on your technique.
