Description / Robens Polarshield 60 Compact Inflatable Sleep Mat
When a storm, power cut or sudden change of plans means sleeping away from your usual bed, a mat can make the night more comfortable. The Robens Polarshield 60 is an inflatable sleep mat for three-season camping, with a 3D shape and vertical sides that maximise the usable surface area. Its lightweight construction and insulation-focused design make it a practical option for an emergency sleep kit.
Small vertical cutouts help reduce weight and improve insulation. The Robens Peak Valve allows quick inflation and deflation, while the mat’s compact packed size makes it easier to store or take along. It is made from 20D 390T nylon with a TPU coating and has a delamination-proof construction.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: add a sleeping layer for an unexpected night away from your bed.
- Grab bag: packed dimensions of 30 x 15 cm make it easier to stow with other overnight essentials.
- Storm evacuation kit: use it to make a temporary sleeping place more comfortable.
- Camp and off-grid stays: a three-season mat for nights outdoors.
Prep tips
- Inflate and deflate it at home before relying on it, so you know how the valve works.
- Store it clean and dry, and check it periodically for damage.
- Pair it with a suitable sleeping bag and keep a backup plan for warmth and bedding.
