FireDragon Matchless Waterproof Fire-Starting Set

When damp weather or a power cut leaves you needing a way to get a fire started, the FireDragon Matchless Fire-Starting Set brings fuel, tinder and a flint together in one compact kit. Its waterproof container and sealed components make it a practical backup for camp or a home emergency box.

The set includes two Fire Dragon Solid blocks, each 27g, compressed cotton wool for quick ignition and a ranger fire lighting flint. The source gives a shelf life of six years, so it can be stored as a backup and checked as part of your regular kit review.

Where it fits in your kit

• Home emergency box: a fire-lighting option to keep with other power-cut supplies.
• Grab bag: a compact set for an evacuation where making a fire is appropriate and permitted.
• Camp: fuel, tinder and a flint in one container for outdoor fire-starting.
• Bushcraft kit: a ready combination of ignition components for practice and camp use.

Prep tips

• Store fire-lighting equipment where you can find it, and check it during routine kit reviews.
• Practise using a flint and tinder before relying on them; keep another ignition method as a backup.
• Use fires only where permitted, and follow local fire-safety guidance.
