Fine & Medium Sharpening Stones, Twin Pack

When an axe or woodcarving knife becomes dull, a sharpening stone gives you a simple way to maintain it for the work ahead. This twin pack contains fine and medium grit combination stones made from silicon carbide, offering a practical option for sharpening tools at home, in the shed or at camp.

The stones measure 70x20x8mm and are small enough to keep in a side pouch or pocket, as described by the maker. Use the medium grit for sharpening and the fine grit for further attention to the edge. Check your tool’s instructions and work carefully, keeping the edge directed away from yourself.

Where it fits in your kit

• Home tool drawer: Keep a sharpening option near household tools that need maintenance.
• Shed or woodstore: Useful alongside axes and other tools used for woodwork.
• Camp tool kit: A compact way to maintain suitable tools used around camp.
• Bushcraft kit: Supports upkeep of a woodcarving knife or other working tool.

Prep tips

• Store the stones somewhere dry and easy to find with your tool-maintenance supplies.
• Practise sharpening at home before relying on your tools for a task.
• Keep tools clean and check their edges regularly rather than waiting until they are difficult to use.
