Description / DD Superlight Inflatable Mat for Hammock Insulation
When a storm or other disruption means sleeping away from your usual bed, a compact mat makes a basic rest setup more comfortable. The DD SuperLight Inflatable Mat weighs 490g and packs down to approximately the size of a 500ml water bottle, making it a practical option for a grab bag or multi-day camp kit.
Blow air into the valve to inflate it, then release the valve to deflate. The 180cm x 60cm x 5cm mat has a built-in pillow and a high air-volume body. It packs into its own stuff sack, which has a carry handle, and an elastic strap is included for storage. Pair it with a tent, hammock or tarp setup as appropriate.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: a compact sleeping surface for temporary arrangements.
- Grab bag: packs small for an evacuation or overnight stay away from home.
- Camp and bushcraft: adds a sleeping mat to a lightweight camp setup.
- Off-grid trips: useful on multi-day outings where pack weight and space matter.
Prep tips
- Practise inflating and deflating the mat before relying on it away from home.
- Check the valve and mat before each trip, and pack a suitable repair option for inflatable gear.
- Keep the mat with the shelter and sleeping layers you plan to use together.
