Description / Bla Band Rice with Asparagus and Chicken Freeze-Dried Meal 143g
When a water outage, power cut or change of plans leaves you short of a straightforward meal, this freeze-dried rice with asparagus and chicken gives you a compact food option to keep in reserve. The 143g pouch is lightweight, stores without refrigeration and has a shelf life of up to 3 years, making it useful for emergency supplies as well as outdoor trips.
Add boiling water to the fill line inside the pouch, stir, reseal and leave it for 10 minutes. Stir again before eating. Cold water can be used if necessary; allow approximately 30 minutes for rehydration. Eat from the pouch or transfer the meal to a plate.
Where it fits in your kit
- Home emergency box: A stored meal for interruptions to normal cooking.
- Grab bag: A lightweight food option for an evacuation or time away from home.
- 72-hour kit: Adds a ready-to-prepare meal to your food supplies.
- Camp or off-grid trip: Useful when you want a meal with minimal washing up.
Prep tips
- Store it in a cool, dry place and note the use-by date with your other emergency food.
- Keep drinking water and a way to heat it with your food supplies; cold water takes longer for this meal to rehydrate.
- Check your stored meals periodically and replace them before their stated shelf life ends.
